Visit to the ongoing housing construction site in Kinyonzwe Cell, Mutuntu Sector

On 18th June 2026 Duterimbere ONG visited the ongoing housing construction site in Kinyonzwe Cell, Mutuntu Sector. Together with the contractor: Mr. Félicier and Duterimbere ONG representatives, the team assessed the construction progress and identified areas requiring improvement. Recommendations focused on accessibility, water channel management, disaster risk reduction, lightning protection and environmental conservation measures, including tree planting in the surrounding areas. The team also met with the 14 right holders of the 7 twin houses to discuss ownership, responsibilities and encourage participation in VSLA and other income-generating activities. The right holders expressed their appreciation and commitment to improving their livelihoods. The contractor confirmed that the houses are expected to be completed and handed over by 30 June 2026.
