Who We Are
Duterimbere ONG is a Women's led Organization Created by 29 members in 1987 and currently owned by 1,448 members. We support poor and vulnerable women in recognition of the barrier's inclusive development. Established DUTERIMBERE Micro-finance PLC Ltd as a sister institution in 2004 with a mission to provide suitable financial services to low-income entrepreneurs mainly women to improve their social economic lives, currently serving 104,000 clients countrywide.

Founded in 1987, Duterimbere has walked a path of resilience, empowerment, and institutional growth.
Founding Vision Test
Duterimbere was established by 29 visionary women seeking to integrate women into Rwanda's formal economic sector.
Post-Genocide Rehabilitation
Pivoted to help widows build economic resilience, establish savings groups, and recover from crisis.
Duterimbere Microfinance
Created Duterimbere Microfinance PLC as an independent financial institution to guarantee credit access to women.
Cooperative Expansion
Scaled community training models to support hundreds of rural agricultural and handicraft cooperatives.
Digital & Green Empowerment
Championing climate-resilient farming, digital banking systems, and structured policy advocacy.
