A Regional General Assembly Meeting

On 21st June 2026, a regional general assembly meeting for Duterimbere in Rubavu was held, bringing together members from Rubavu, Nyabihu and Ngororero districts. The meeting was chaired by the Regional chairperson. The Board of Directors were represented by the Legal representative, the First Vice chairperson and the Executive Secretary of Duterimbere. In this assembly, the District was represented by the Officer in charge of Cooperatives, who delivered an excellent presentation encouraging members to work together towards establishing cooperatives aimed at income-generating activities, as this opens up opportunities to access loans and funding. Additionally, a presentation on the operations and collaboration with Duterimbere IMF Plc was delivered by Ms. Muhorakeye Hyacenthe, a Marketing Officer. The Legal representative of Duterimbere spoke to the members about the history and origins of Duterimbere and what it takes to be a good member, while the Executive Secretary explained the achievements from the past five-year strategic plan, as well as the roadmap for 2027 to 2031. Discussions also covered Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) and how they can serve as a platform for members to meet at least once every three months while fostering self-development. Appreciation was expressed for members who bring their children into the organization and it was agreed that consideration would be given to future initiatives tailored for these "grandchildren of Duterimbere".
